150 of them

then there all the paper to take off

and clean up

I broke 2 nails

Goodness knows what was I thinking when I started this!?

Esther wanted it quilted modern with a twist of traditionl.
This gave me the oppertunity to add sme feathers.
Some fun swirls.
Mixed with modern designs.
Esther went for a modern design on the grays but wanted it softer so we used a curved crosshatch.

I used lots of different coloured thread one for each tone on the quilt.

Ready to start!

Half way!

Lis wanted a different pattern in each of the sets of blocks and because the quilt is so colourful I quiltes simple designs in each block on each row.

I also quilted stripes in the smaller squares, the vertical ones on the angle and the others straight.

Nearly finished!

Else Marie’s beautiful pineapple quilt on the machine as I finish the last border.
I stupidly deleated most of the photos of this quilt, sometimes tecnology sometimes bites back! Here are the few I have of this wonderful quilt, it had super wide borders which I quilted with a feather and flower design and added some dragonflies for fun.

You can just see the quilting in this photo.

I meandered the pinapples in the middle so as to enhance Else Marie’s work, I also put dragonflies and a flower mofit in the white dimonds.

My motto is to download your photos straight away, I was lucky I had these on my phone. Else Marie if you have any more photos do send them so I can add them to this blog!

Thank you Else Marie for sending me these close ups of the quilting on her quilt.

I love to add extras to the borders and here are the dragonflies, they mimic the dragonflies I noticed in some of the fabric Else used in her lovely quilt.

Lizzie Villadsen’s quilt ready to be quilted. Lizzies wanted a feather meander border and was happy to leave the rest of the quilting ideas to me, I am so in awe of the workmanship in theis quilt its mainly hand stitched and decided that the quilting would have to enhance the quilt and not take over.

It took me 5 full working days to compleate the quilt, first quilting in the ditch then I had lots of fun quilting the indivifual blocks. I added a soft feather design to the flying goose border and feather meandered around the amazing hexagon flowers on the outer border.
Lizzie got her extra wide backing fabric and super soft wool batting from Helene Juul’s super shop,

I was asked by a costomer to make her a couple of pillows for her new sofa, she wanted stars and planets.

They are simalar but not the same.

I pieced three stars for each pillow before making the background for the appliqued stars and planets.

I later quilted a star design over the pieced star.

I machined appliqued rhe planet then later quilted a design over it.

I quilted lots of background planets and stars on the background.

The zippers on the back anr hidden away to keep the pillow soft.
Here are just a few to give you an idea you can see lots more in my Pintrest Album, https://dk.pinterest.com/bunysanders/daisy-qfy-pantographs/

Keeping out the wind.

And the cold.

Remember to pack a couple of quilts into the car when you take a trip, you never know when you will need them!
Elin asked me if I would be happy to quilt the borders only of Christmas quilt she has beautifully hand embroidered and had hand quilted the middle of the quilt but wanted some simple on the borders.

I attached some extra fabric to the edge of the quilt as I do like to have some space around the quilt to work on. The extra fabric is removed when the quilt is squared up.

I quilted a super simple feather meandering its way around the border.

I wanted the quilting to compliment the hand quilting and not be overpowering.

I used a matching thread so its difficult to see the quilting in my photos but it did look super on the quilt.

I quilted the top and bottm borders and the corners then I removed the quilt from the frame and turned it around to then finish up the side borders.
I decided to use the feather design because of the feather design already on the fabric.
