Cut

4 x 3.5″ x 6.5″ rectangles of background fabric

8 x 3.5″ x 3.5″ squares of the gold and black fabric.

Draw a pencil line from corner to corner of the gold/black – 3.5″ squares and lay them right sides together on a rectangle of background fabric as shown in the picture.

Sew over this line.

Cut off the excess fabric, leaving a quarter inch seam.

Press to the dark fabric.

Repeat with the remaining squares on the other side of the rectangles.

Trim, leaving a quarter inch seam.

6.5” x 3.5” unit.

Press and set the units aside for now.

Sy den midterste enhed i blokken.

Sew the middle unit of the block.

Sy en lille trekant af stof J og en trekant af stof E sammen som vist på billedet.

Cut 1 x 4.25 square of fabric E and fabric J, and cut twice from corner to corner to make 4 triangles of each

Sew together a small triangle of fabric J and a triangle of fabric E as shown in the picture.

Skær 2 x 4″ firkanter ud, og skær dem ud én gang, så der bliver fire trekanter.

Press to the dark fabric and sew the larger triangle of J fabric onto the above unit to make a 3.5″ square unit.

Repeat to make a total of 4 units.

Lay them out as shown and sew them together to make a 6.5″ square in this layout.

Cut 4 x 3.5” squares of background fabric.

Lay out all the units as shown above.

Sew them together as three rows.

Carefully press the seams open.
